Meredith Halcomb, PhD

Education: BS in Criminology, Indiana State University; BA in Psychology, IUPUI; PhD in Addiction Neuroscience, IUPUI

Research Interests: I am interested in identifying the neural substrates and mechanisms underlying addictive behavior. In particular, I use imaging techniques to analyze differences in functional connectivity of specific brain regions in non treatment-seeking alcoholics compared to non-addicted controls. The ultimate objective is to improve clarity of factors contributing to the initiation, maintenance and relapse of alcoholism and promote better forms of treatment and prevention.
