Research Interests

Dr. Wu joined the Department of Radiology and Imaging Science Faculty in 2013.  Her research focuses on diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) to study white matter and gray matter structures of the human brain.  She pursues interests in both clinical applications and methodology development of dMRI techniques including Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), q-space imaging (QSI), Diffusion Spectrum Imaging (DSI), High Angular Resolution Diffusion Imaging (HARDI), and Hybrid Diffusion Imaging (HYDI).  Her projects include: (1) developing an MRI pulse sequence for fast and high resolution dMRI, (2) exploring the time dependence of the water probability density function (PDF), (3) combining MultiVariate Pattern Analysis (MVPA) approaches and dMRI to segment white matter structures, (4) applying HYDI on clinical populations, and (5) implementing multimodal quantitative neuroimaging techniques for the early detection of brain pathologies.
