Alan Breier, M.D.
Dr. Alan Breier joined Indiana University School of Medicine in July 2008 as a full Professor of Psychiatry and assumed respoinsibilities as Chief of the Psychotic Disorders Program and Director of Research at Larue Carter hospital, an intermediate inpatient facility for psychiatric patients and primary training site for the Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Breier previously served a Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical at Eli Lilly and Company; he had been with the company since first joining as Research Fellow in Lilly Research Laboratories in 1977.
Dr. Breier comes to Indiana University School of Medicine with the goals of strengthening and expanding the three missions of teaching, clinical effort, and research in the area of psychotic disorders. His extensive experience in academic, industry, and federal research environments provides a background that he hopes will facilitate the expansiion of the psychotic disorders programs.
